The Nakagin Capsule Tower, designed by the renowned Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa, is a prominent example of the Metabolism movement in architecture. Completed in 1972 in Tokyo, Japan, this iconic building is celebrated for its futuristic vision and modular design. The tower comprises a series of prefabricated capsules, each functioning as an independent living or office space, connected to a central core. This innovative design reflects the Metabolist philosophy of organic, adaptable, and sustainable urban structures. The Capsule Tower has become a symbol of the 20th-century avant-garde architecture, showcasing Kurokawa's revolutionary approach to living spaces in densely populated cities.

The Nakagin Capsule Tower was dismantled in 2023.
